About Us
This site is a look into the lives of David, Sarah, Ezekiel and Cadence Moore and our journey to South Korea, also known as the Republic of Korea. It is written as a way to stay in touch with family and friends, keeping everyone up to date on our latest adventures. It will also serve as a sort of journal for us as well, something we can look back on years down the road and remember the time we spent here. Last, it is written with others in mind who might be considering moving to South Korea and especially for those considering taking a family.
We are a family of four, which makes some things more difficult and others a lot easier. For example, packing enough luggage for 4 people for a year with all 4 seasons, then proceeding to haul all of that luggage with you from place to place is quite a chore! At the same time, the children provide a huge advantage to talking with Korean people. While they might normally be standoffish and even afraid to approach you as a lone foreigner, most Koreans love kids and will often come running across a room to talk to you and play with the children. The kids help provide a bridge over the language barrier and cultural gap.
That being said, the blog and any advice given is written from a family perspective. This perspective may vary greatly from your own experiences, and is very dependent on where you live in Korea. We have chosen to work with EPIK and live in the Gangwon-do province, which is a more rural, mountainous province and not as popular a choice as other areas of Korea. If you live in a big city, your experiences will certainly differ from ours.
So please enjoy what the site has to offer and drop us a note or comment anytime!
